Deliveroo - are they listenning?

Deliveroo - the company that employs motorists who don't care about invading cycle facilities,

particularly ASLs and cycle lanes.

Also seen bypassing other traffic rules...

Well, there has recently been a return to employing cyclists.

Also, they have adopted these backpacks which means the last few yards can be completed on foot.

Does this mean the company has been listening to recent criticism of the behavior of their motorcyclists?

Rickshaw spotted in Manchester

Last weekend I spotted a cycle rickshaw in Manchester.

This one was in Hulme, outside the Garden Centre. It was part of the Hulme is where the art is festival.

This rickshaw is not a native of Manchester, but had been brought all the way from Blackpool for the event.

Sadly Manchester City Council do not allow rickshaws to operate in Manchester for hire so they are a very rare sight in the city. This is one of the reasons why the city centre is clogged up with taxis and private hire cars.

The Coffee Cranks Cooperative Cargo Bike

Cycling up Liverpool Road today I came across this wonderful machine on it's first day out. Rider Zygmunt Wysocki built this machine with his dad and his business partner "without whom the project would not make it out of our garage."

Today's job was a house move, the machine was loaded with pots and pans and other household goods. However, as the name suggests, the aim is eventually to sell coffee. Though they may end up building more cargo bikes....

More details of the build are available on the Coffee Cranks Cooperative Facebook page.

Pedal Power on Parade

There were lots of pedal powered machines on show at the Manchester Day Parade.

And the occasional city councillor...

Some had fewer wheels than others.

By the end of the day some people looked knackered!

Whilst the clean up operation joined in the spirit.

Whilst the machines were mostly pedal powered, the sound systems etc were battery powered - some people were clearly not aware of the dangers of exposed battery terminals!

Pedal Powered Advertising 2

Spotted this little advertising ploy in town today.

KNT Danceworks have found the advantage of using bikes to grab your attention. I saw two bikes, there may have been more...

Pedal Powered Advertising

Out in Market Street last weekend, a trike from The Advertising Bike Company.

Back in October a Brox riding away rapidly along High Street.

And a more modest approach in June outside the GMEX.
